Chris was elected to represent District 3 on Sandy Springs City Council in a special June 21, 2016 run-off election. District 3 includes the Glenridge Hammond Neighborhood north of Hammond Dr. Chris Burnett has lived in Sandy Springs for 25 years and is president of Bank of Sandy Springs. Recently he served on the City’s Next Ten Planning Committee. Twice he has served as Board Chairman of the Sandy Springs / Perimeter Chamber of Commerce, and has served on the Holy Innocents’ School Board of Trustees, Sandy Springs Civic Fund, Rotary Club of Sandy Springs and was a member of the Sandy Spring Conservancy Board. Chris, his wife Karen and children, Christopher and Greyson, live in Rivershore Estates.

Requested Rezoning of Apostle Church for 200+ Apartments

April 21  6 pm  @ City Hall- Planning Commission Meeting to hear REZONING Request for Apostle Church to become apartments

Parc Properties( senior community developer) has requested rezoning of the Apostle Church site at the corner of Glenridge Drive & Hammond Drive to build a 200+ unit senior (55+ yo) apartment complex with a height of 75 feet.  In addition to surface parking a 260 car parking garage is proposed.

Surrounding neighborhood Presidents, GHNA’s Steve Oppenheimer included, have filed protests with respect to proposed aspects that are inconsistent with adjacent homes, offices and Hammond Park including the excessive height that has been proposed.
